Wessex Folk Festival

The famous free Wessex Folk Festival is a weekend family festival bringing the best of live music and morris dancing to Weymouth. Held on Weymouth’s picturesque south Harbourside, Wessex Folk Festival is a showpiece for new, young musicians and established musicians from the southwest and further afield.

Weymouth Triathlon
Sunday 14th June
Featuring Middle, Classic, and Sprint distances based from the race HQ at Weymouth College. Swim in the stunning Weymouth Bay, cycle through scenic rolling routes, and finish with a run around Lodmoor Nature Reserve. Organised by Bustinskin Events, this is a challenge you won’t want to miss!

Skyglow Festival – Dorset
Saturday 4th July
A day of family fun, filled with live tribute music, stunt shows, inflatables, and hands-on activities for all ages. The event is designed to be exciting for children and relaxed for parents, with something happening throughout the day.

Dorset Seafood Festival
4th – 5th July
Now in its 17th year, recognised as one of the country’s top food and drink events. Bursting with fun and full of flavour, the Festival attracts upwards of 10,000 visitors to Weymouth for Festival Weekend, celebrating Dorset’s amazing catch of delicious fresh fish and shellfish, fine English wines and delicious Dorset ales, as well as a feast of other fantastic local artisan producers.

iQFoil World Championships 2026
7th September – 12th September
The world’s top Olympic windsurfers are converging on Weymouth & Portland for a high-speed showdown at one of sailing’s most iconic venues.
Prepare for intense, head-to-head racing with Olympic medallists, World Champions and emerging talents reaching speeds up to 35 kt (65 km/h) against the dramatic backdrop of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

10th – 11th October
Weymouth Beach Motocross is back for 2026! Join us on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October for an adrenaline-filled weekend on the sands.

Fireworks on the beach!
Summer firework nights on Weymouth beach, take place on Monday 3rd August, Monday 10th August, Monday 17th August, Monday 24th August, and Monday 31st August. Each display starts at 9.30pm.
