To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests, and to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety, we kindly request that guests travelling with their dogs adhere to the following terms and conditions. By bringing your dog to The Heights Hotel, you agree to abide by these policies.

1. Booking & Fees:

a. Prior Notification: Guests must inform The Heights Hotel at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to arrival if they intend to bring a dog. Failure to do so may result in refusal of accommodation for the dog.
b. Designated Rooms: Dogs are permitted only in specially designated ‘pet-friendly’ rooms. These rooms are subject to availability.
c. Pet Fee: A non-refundable pet fee of £20 per dog, per night (£30 for 1 night stays), will be charged to your room account. This fee contributes to the additional cleaning and sanitisation required.
d. Damage Deposit: A refundable damage deposit of £100 is required upon booking. This deposit will be returned in full upon satisfactory inspection of the room at check-out, provided no damage or excessive cleaning is required.
e. Number & Size Restrictions: A maximum of 1 medium sized dog is permitted per room (no larger than 27” and up to 60 pounds). We reserve the right to refuse accommodation for dogs deemed too large or if they exceed the permitted number.
f. Breeds: We do not have specific breed restrictions; however, all dogs must be well-behaved and non-aggressive.

2. Dog Behaviour & Supervision:

a. Leash Policy: For the safety and comfort of all guests and staff, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when in public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, and outdoor grounds.
b. Unattended Dogs: Dogs are generally not permitted to be left unattended in the hotel room. It is permitted for a short period, whilst guests are having breakfast or dining in the Bistro (in these specific circumstances, you may leave your dog alone for a short period, whilst you remain onsite), however, you must: i. Inform reception beforehand and provide a mobile contact number for immediate contact. ii. Ensure your dog is settled and will not cause disturbance or damage. iii. Place the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on your door. iv. Any dog causing continuous disturbance will require immediate attention from the owner or removal from the premises.
c. Noise Control: Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog does not cause excessive noise (e.g., persistent barking, whining) that may disturb other guests. Should a dog cause a disturbance, the hotel reserves the right to request its immediate removal.
d. Public Areas: Dogs are not permitted in the following areas: Bistro, Chesil Bar, Chesil, all conference rooms and lift; service animals are exempt from this restriction.
e. Furniture: For hygiene reasons, dogs are not permitted on beds, chairs, or any other hotel furniture. We recommend bringing your dog’s own bed or blanket.
f. Well-behaved Dogs: We welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs. Dogs displaying aggressive behaviour or excessive barking will not be permitted to stay.

3. Health & Cleanliness:

a. Vaccinations: Dogs must be up to date with all vaccinations and flea/tick treatments. Proof of vaccination may be requested.
b. Waste Management: Owners are solely responsible for immediately and properly cleaning up after their dog, both inside the hotel room and in all outdoor areas. Failure to clean up after your dog may result in an additional cleaning charge.
c. Accidents & Damage: The owner is fully liable for any damage caused by their dog to the hotel property (including but not limited to furniture, carpets, linens, and fittings) or any injury caused to staff or other guests. Any costs incurred for repairs, replacement, or professional cleaning due to dog-related incidents will be charged to the guest’s account.
d. Cleaning: Should the room require excessive cleaning due to pet hair, odour, or accidents, an additional deep cleaning charge of up to £100 will be applied.
e. Housekeeping: For the safety and comfort of our staff and your dog, housekeeping services will only be performed if the dog is out of the room. Please inform reception of the best time for your room to be serviced.

4. Owner Responsibilities:

a. Full Liability: The dog owner accepts full responsibility for their dog’s behaviour, well-being, and any damage or disturbance caused throughout their stay.
b. Indemnification: The guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Heights Hotel, its owners, and employees from any liability for injury or damage to persons or property caused by their dog.
c. Emergency Contact: Please provide a mobile contact number at check-in in case of any issues regarding your dog.
d. Dog Comfort: We recommend bringing your dog’s favourite food, bowls, bed, toys, and any other items to help them settle into the new environment.

5. Hotel’s Rights:

a. The Heights Hotel reserves the right to refuse service or accommodation to any dog deemed disruptive, aggressive, or unwell.
b. In the event of persistent non-compliance with these terms and conditions, The Heights Hotel reserves the right to ask the guest and their dog to vacate the premises immediately, without refund.
c. The Heights Hotel reserves the right to vary or amend these conditions at any time.
